This Threw Me!

I was having a conversation with my Broker, and he ask about my coaching business. He curiously ask, "Why would someone want to talk with you and have you tell them what to do?" I was a bit thrown by the question. Quite honestly, I didn't really know how to respond. He went on to tell me about a friend, who was in the customer service industry, who quit their job to become a coach. He again ask, "Why would someone listen to them?" Fair questions. My response, "Well, I did pay to go through a course to learn how to be a coach and learn a specific system. I did look at many systems, before deciding on this one. I do the work to improve my coaching skills. I have many experiences that help me better understand people at their core. I can help people get through a divorce, I can help people get physically healthier, I can help people improve their lives. I am qualified not just because of education but because of life experience." My cousin sent me the following poem, which very much sums up what I do as a coach.
